In “Pass [puertos], A Journey Inscribed,” I delve into the deeply personal and transformative journey of my mother’s migration from Ecuador to the United States in the mid-sixties. This work focuses on the symbolic and literal significance of her passport, an artifact marking the beginning of my family’s odyssey and the intricate web of choices shaping our destiny. Her decision, though seemingly singular, set the course for generations to come, weaving a complex narrative of identity, belonging, and resilience.
“Pass [puertos], A Journey Inscribed” invites viewers to contemplate broader themes of migration, destiny, and the invisible threads connecting us to our past and future.
