After I migrated to the United States as a young adult, my work dealt with many of the experiences I had back home in Ecuador. This work talks about memories of being witness to political persecutions as a young child, and to killings and massacres as a young adult. Traumatic experiences are held confined in our psyche to be awaken when the lids where we keep them stored, are opened.
